Palette Knife Flower Field by George Miller

I stood at the edge of a wild meadow just before dawn, the air thick with dew and color. That moment became this painting—built in layers with a palette knife, each stroke pressing oil into texture. The foreground blooms in bold reds and purples, contrasted against cool greens and yellows, while the sky softens into pale pink and peach. Thick impasto marks define the flowers' forms, some lifted high, others scraped down to reveal underlayers. The composition is vertical, measuring 12×8 in., ideal for intimate spaces like a bedroom or home office where it can anchor a wall without overwhelming. This piece thrives in natural light, its colors shifting subtly throughout the day.
